SEEING
ASLAN
One of the great things in C.S. Lewis is how he brings out the
problem of perception. In Prince
Caspian, when the children are lost Aslan appears - but only the
youngest, Lucy, can see him. Because the others can't see him, they won't
follow Aslan's directions to go up instead of down, and because Lucy doesn't
dare to go against majority opinion, she disobeys Aslan by going the way the
others want to go - and everyone gets lost. Only gradually do the older
Pevensie children develop the ability to see Aslan again; their first
sighting is a glimpse of his shadow moving across the grass.

Dreaming a City
Fire Eight Years Early
A Personal Experience of Long-Range Dream
Precognition
By Wanda Burch
On January 31, 2000, I wrote a dream report titled, "Johnstown is
Burning Down." In my dream, I watched an enormous fire consume many downtown
buildings in the city of Johnstown, NY, where I work. In this dream, as
noted in my report, my vantage point was quite specific: I saw blocks of
historic Victorian era buildings burning, each one setting off the fire in
the next…. On April 25, 2008, a massive fire in the city of Johnstown,
triggered by a welding torch, destroyed three beautiful old mills. Several
other historic commercial buildings were set aflame by large embers swirled
through the city from the original fire by strong winds. Eventually twelve
city fires burned in addition to those in the mills. The fire was so immense
that it showed up as a major storm on Doppler weather reports.

JOURNALING
FROM JOURNALS
The practice of journaling from journals is not only for writers. It
is a marvelous tool for self-observation, for life navigation, and for
constructing a personal encyclopedia of symbols.
